A Water Colour of Newby Bridge by Claude Buckle

carriage print of the Bridge across the river Leven at Newby Bridge
Probably one of best water colour paintings of a bridge that Claude Buckle did. The view is taken from across the bridge looking towards the Swan Hotel. The arched bridge is beautifully reflected in the water. The scene is unchanged even today (2014) except that this view is now obscured by trees. Created in 1950.
