A water colour picture entitled Nadine by Claude Buckle

water colour of girl in river by Claude Buckle

This water colour shows a river scene depicting a young girl about to collect water from the river in a bucket. Claude Buckle makes a great effort to produce the effect of ripples on the water around the girl. She is also holding up her clothing to prevent it getting wet and this is reflected in the water as well. This an another example of the technique of now allowing the water colour to dry before applying the next layer. Created in 1971.
