An Industrial Water Colour painting by Claude Buckle Paper Mill

The picture shows the layout and plant operation of the A.E Read Group's paper mill at Newbury. The new paper mill at Thatcham was owned by the Colthrop subsidiary but has been derelict since 1971 (2014). This picture is very typical Claude Buckle and shows off his architectural background and style of representation for industrial scenes. Note the strong perspective in the drawing with the defined vanishing lines crossing the picture from left to right. The pictures’ medium is water colour. Created in 1954.
