A Water Colour of Newby Bridge by Claude Buckle

carriage print of the Bridge across the river Leven at Newby Bridge
Probably one of best water colour Carriage Print paintings of a bridge that Claude Buckle did. The view is taken from across the bridge looking towards the Swan Hotel. This a very popular tourist area of southern Lake Windermere.

Newby Bridge is a small hamlet in the Lake District, Cumbria, although historically it was in Lancashire. Newby Bridge is located several miles west of Grange-over-Sands and is on the River Leven, close to the southern end of Windermere.

Created in 1950.
