Bridge carrying railway over Grand Union Canal. 1837. Robert Stephenson, engineer, for London and Birmingham Railway made this bridge originally of Iron. Unfortunately nothing now left of this structure as it was reinforced in concrete. (Don't see how this happened it was a grade 2 listed building)

Robert Stephenson is particularly well connected with bridge building and architecture since he also built the Conway Tubular Bridge (see Buckle's carriage print). Perhaps even more notable is that he connected with painting having asked Turner to paint the famous Bell Rock Lighthouse (Tate) that he built in 1810.

Nash Mills is a civil parish within Hemel Hempstead and Dacorum Borough Council on the northern side of the Grand Union Canal, formerly the River Gade, and in the southernmost corner of Hemel Hempstead.
